To the City

The 2009 Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) conference was held in Istanbul and members were asked to respond to the phrase "To the City", which  in relation to Istanbul refers to the city's Greek name, "eis tḕn Pólin," which translates to "to the city" in Greek. The contributions of over 100 members formed part of a public exhibition held in Istanbul during the conference.

Pigeons are a significant part of the Istanbul cityscape, both literally and figuratively. They are a common sight in squares, parks, and even around historical sites, often interacting with locals and tourists alike. The play on David's surname lead to the concept, which was brilliantly captured by John Gollings.
