Rone in Geelong
Geelong-born artist RONE has built a reputation for large-scale wall paintings and immersive installations that explore concepts of beauty and decay.
Geelong Gallery exhibition of RONE in Geelong tracked the artist’s practice from early stencil works and street art, to his latest site-specific installation.
The particular transformation of the Douglass space was an immersive experience which transported you into an abandoned entry hall. Responding to the architecture and history of the Geelong Gallery building, the room inspired a sense of melancholy and hope in a world which was both foreign yet familiar.
